Politicians and media Krauts swing their whips and wade trough German angst. Kindergarten people in deep deep trouble. So let's cry a river and then fill all the tears in bottles and the rotten ship will be saved. Or shaved. Or something else.
This CD will be an ironic statement against American einheitsgedudel. A great fake masked in vorauseilendem gehorsam. With rock and roll, guitar pop, indie folk, easy beats, ballads, bastards and electronic clicks. Well compiled by the Tapete-gurus Gunther Buskies and Daniel Decker. On this record you can find some of the best known pop and rock alley oops transformed into German speaking estravaganca. Original songs from Tom Petty, Guns 'N' Roses, Serge Gainsbourg, The Cure, David Bowie, Henry Mancini, The Ramones, Cole Porter, Midge Ure, Burt Bacharach and more, dressed in strange and heavy teutonic words.
Some of those beautiful songs were never released before. Like "Nichts zu verlieren" ("Nothing To Loose") by Erdmobel, "Mein susses Kind" ("Sweet Child O' Mine") by Wolke, "Zehn Uhr funfzehn, Samstag Nacht" ("10:15, Saturday Night") by Darlo, "Dies ist nicht Amerika" ("This Is Not America") by Richard von der Schulenburg or "Alles ist vollig offen" ("Into The Great White Open") by Justin Balk. Others are very rare B-sides: "Die Wikingjugend hat mein Madchen entfuhrt" ("KKK Took My Baby Away") by Die Arzte and "Nichts haut mich um, aber Du" ("I Get A Kick Out Of You") by Kiesgroup. You also can listen to some well done tracks produced only for this compilation. My faves: "Schon in rosa und rot" by Le Kanin, "Du hast die Welt in Deiner Hand" by Die Sterne, "Bonnie und Clyde" by Bout d'Chou, "Phantasie" by Panamaformat and "Wein' einen Fluss" by Pawnshop Orchestra.
