Inselplatten von PÃ¥l Jackman (Wunderkammer)

Wunderkammer ist eine neunköpfige bunte Ansammlung norwegischer Musiker, die Folk, Klezmer, Polka und düstere Gedanken in einen Topf werfen. Wer dabei an Kaizers Orchestra denkt, liegt schonmal auf der richtigen Spur. Das Debüt "Today I Cannot Hear Music" (Honeymilk/Cargo) gibt's im Fachhandel, die Inselplatten von Sänger Pål Jackman gibt's hier. So richtig auf zehn Alben festlegen wollte er sich nicht, also hat er die Liste fast unmerklich ausgedehnt:

• Pirate Vyssotskij LP from late 70's. Don't know the title as I don't know Russian. It's Vladimir Vyssotskij alone with his guitar singing in what sounds like, according to the hard accoustics, a big gym. Fabulous record. Honest as hell and hits you right in the face.
• Trippelklimpern. A cassette with underground medieval music from former East-Berlin. This tape rocks. The main guy is Michel Bach, I think.
• Geirr Tveitt. A collection of folk tunes from Hardanger in Norway where the composer came from. He travelled around to distant farms and collected old tunes which he later arranged for symphony orchestra. This is the Oslo Filharmonic Orchestra.
• The Best of Ali Farka Toure. Pirate best of compilation from Morocco. Great spiritual guitarplaying and singing from Mali.
• Gypsy music compilation by Goran Bregovich.
• Velvet Underground & Nico
• Bob Marley (Live in London) ["Live!" (1975)]
• Jimi Hendrix (the one with the naked ladies on the original cover)
• CD box of Lee Scratch Perry. Can play his stuff and over again.
• The Stooges "Fun House"
• Led Zeppelin "II"
